Meet Dr. Rebecca Etta, DNP, PMHNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AIHCM-C
Rebecca Etta, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), is a board-certified, doctorate-prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 21 years of experience in the medical field across diverse clinical roles and specialties.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tuskegee University, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Dr. Etta’s doctoral research, “Implementing a Locally Tailored Screening Tool Kit to Improve Depression Diagnosis and Management in Older Adults with Dementia in a Primary Care Setting,” reflects her commitment to advancing mental health outcomes through evidence-based practices.
At Healing Oasis Psychiatry and Wellness in Texas, Dr. Etta provides comprehensive psychiatric services to patients from adolescence through older adulthood. Her clinical expertise includes medication management and treatment for a broad range of mental health conditions, with particular proficiency in attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. She prioritizes individualized, collaborative care plans that incorporate client involvement, interprofessional teamwork, and evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Etta is dedicated to fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, respected, and encouraged to engage openly in their mental health journey. She is known for her person-centered approach, treating every patient with dignity, empathy, and genuine concern. By cultivating a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust, she helps patients feel comfortable expressing their experiences, emotions, and goals without fear of discrimination or stigma.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Etta enjoys spending meaningful time with her family. She has a deep appreciation for culture and global traditions, expressed through her hobby of collecting recipes from around the world. She also enjoys visiting museums, reflecting her passion for lifelong learning and cultural enrichment.
